Beatriz Bonnet , President & CEO, Syntes Language Group, Inc., USA
Beatriz Bonnet has over 19 years of experience as a translator, interpreter, project manager and President and CEO of Syntes Language Group Inc. (formerly Global Translation Services, Inc.). A member of the American Translators Association for 18 years, Bonnet is ATA-certified in the English into Spanish and Spanish into English language pairs. She also holds Federal Certification as a Court Interpreter and is approved for conference-level interpreting by the U.S. Department of State.
Ms. Bonnet has extensive experience in the translation industry, both as a working translator, interpreter and terminologist and as the top executive of an established translation, interpretation and localization firm. She has also been a leader in the industry by speaking at and conducting workshops at local, regional and national conferences for several industry groups such as the American Translators Association, the National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators, the Austin Area Translators and Interpreters Association, the Colorado Translators Association, Metroplex Interpreters and Translators Association, the New York Circle of Translators and the Houston Interpreters and Translators Association, of which she was a founder. Ms. Bonnet served as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Translators Association from 1999 through 2005 and currently is the ATA representative to the ASTM Technical Committee on translation standards and to the ISO Committee on translation quality management standards.
In addition to significant industry experience, Ms. Bonnet has considerable business, management, PR and organizational experience. Outside the translation industry, Ms. Bonnet is active in the business community as a member of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), and other business and trade organizations. She is a sought-after speaker for organizations such as SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives), Mi Casa Resources for Women, educational Denver Metro Chamber programs and the World Trade Center. In addition to her work in the translation industry, Ms. Bonnet is the Immediate Past President of NAWBO-Denver and serves on the Board and Executive Committee of the American Red Cross - Mile High Chapter where she chairs the Strategic Planning Committee.
