Please note that these are merely suggestions for topics for presentation. All submissions will be considered within the realm of the theme of the conference.

Technology Topics:
• Local standards for character encoding: GB18030, HKSCS, how to support them, issues with character conversion, encoding detection.

• Does Unicode meet the needs of Asian languages now? Does it put Asian languages at a disadvantage to other languages?

• Web- How to design multilingual web sites? How to take advantage of web services?  How to implement and offer web services globally?

• Language technologies- parsing Asian languages that don't use spaces between words is difficult and causes problems when localizing software.  What are the best solutions?

• Translation tools: Which tools work well with Asian languages?  Is XLIFF being accepted in Asia?

• Which development environments are most effective for global development?

• Arabic scripted languages of southeast Asia.

• How is bringing a product developed for Japanese, Chinese or Korean users to Western markets different from localizing western products for Asia? Which tools and practices are best suited for this?

• What are the best practices for managing development by geographically distributed teams?
