Invitation to Participate in the BITcon© Asia Program
The BITcon Asia program will include pre-conference tutorials and workshops followed by breakout sessions. You are invited to submit proposals for papers, tutorials, workshops, case studies and keynote lectures for consideration to this premier event of its kind. We welcome visionary views, successful and unsuccessful experiences, design recommendations, and updates on standards, practices, management principles, and technology. We anticipate speakers and attendees will come from around the world. We hope to have good representation by local speakers to accurately reflect the issues with internationalization in all of Asia.

The conference will offer:

Pre-conference Tutorials and Summit
UniClinic©- A detailed tutorial explaining the Unicode Character Standard and its application in Web and Software programming.
I18nClinic©- Tutorials covering the proper design of global software and best practices for various operating systems, the Web and other programming environments.
L10nClinic©- A review of best practices for cost-effective localization resulting in quick turn-around of high quality products.
A regional standards summit - This will explore which standards meet their objectives and which do not, and why.

BITcon© Conference Sessions
BITcon© Asia will concentrate on the following aspects of Internationalization:

I18n and Unicode™ Practitioner©- updates on Unicode, libraries, tools; presentations on best practices by experts in the field delivering their knowledge through tutorials, sessions, panels, open discussions, and Birds of a Feather sessions.

Plenary Sessions- Visionary local speakers from business and/or government sectors, addressing the main conference topics of the business, technology, and practice of software, website, and product internationalization.

Local Locale© Asia- local practitioners, theoreticians, business people, academics, government will present papers on the issues germane to Asia. This event will focus on the Unicode, internationalization, and business challenges and solutions of creating, selling, and supporting global-ready or multilingual applications, consumer products, and websites in Asia.

N81i©- All about Reverse Internationalization. Traditionally developers and standards bodies have focused their attention on localizing English-language applications for European and Asian markets. Major software and product development teams around the globe will greatly increase the number of consumer devices, industrial products, software applications, packaged software, and websites that start their commercial lives in languages other than English - and then are localized for English-speaking and European markets. This conference will highlight the practice of, resources for, and case studies of reversed internationalization.

Globalization Business Practices©- presenters will discuss business issues critical to the practice of internationalization and localization in user companies, technology suppliers, government, and more: Budget, Return on Investment, organization, best practices, and case studies are some of the topics that may be discussed.
